How We Review AI Tools

Our editorial process is built on one principle: every recommendation we make is one we would genuinely give to a friend. No sponsored rankings, no pay-to-play placements.

His data science background means he benchmarks tools with real metrics, not marketing copy. He personally reviews or quality-checks every article published on this site.

Our Six Editorial Principles

Independent Research

We identify tools based on market relevance, user demand, and our own expertise โ€” not on who pays us. No tool is reviewed because a company reached out asking for coverage.

Hands-On Testing

Every tool we recommend has been used by at least one member of our team on a real-world task. We create accounts, test free tiers, trial paid plans where possible, and document what we find โ€” including limitations.

Structured Scoring

Our assessments use consistent criteria: accuracy, speed, ease of use, pricing value, integration options, and support quality. Scores are not influenced by commercial relationships.

Regular Updates

AI tools change fast. We revisit published reviews when tools release major updates, change pricing, or receive significant user feedback. Every article shows its last reviewed date.

Affiliate Transparency

Some links earn us a referral commission if you sign up. This never influences our scores or recommendations โ€” tools we earn nothing from appear alongside (and often above) tools we do. Affiliate relationships are always disclosed at the top of the article.

Human-Written Content

Every guide, comparison, and review on this site is written by a human who has used the tool. We use AI tools to help with research and fact-checking, but all editorial judgements, recommendations, and conclusions are made by our team.

Our Review Process โ€” Step by Step

From first look to published guide, here is exactly what we do before recommending any AI tool.

  1. 01

    Tool Discovery

We monitor Product Hunt launches, Reddit communities, X/Twitter, and direct outreach from developers. Tools are added to our review queue based on user interest and market relevance โ€” not sponsorship.

  2. 02

    Account Creation & Setup

We create a fresh account and go through the onboarding process as a real user would. We document friction, missing documentation, and any gotchas that aren't covered in the marketing materials.

  3. 03

    Real-World Task Testing

We run the tool against actual use cases relevant to our audience โ€” writing, coding, image generation, data analysis, and so on. We note where it excels and where it falls short compared to alternatives.

  4. 04

    Pricing Verification

We verify pricing directly on the tool's website at the time of writing and document exactly what each tier includes. AI tool pricing changes frequently โ€” we note the date pricing was verified in every article.

  5. 05

    Comparison Against Alternatives

We compare the tool against at least two alternatives at a similar price point. Our goal is to tell you not just what a tool does, but whether it's the best option for your specific situation.

  6. 06

    Writing & Fact-Check

The article is written by the reviewer who tested the tool and then fact-checked for accuracy. Screenshots and examples come from our actual testing sessions.

  7. 07

    Publication & Monitoring

After publication we monitor comments, emails, and social feedback. If a tool changes significantly โ€” pricing, features, terms โ€” we update the article and note the revision date.

Corrections & Feedback

If you spot an error โ€” a price that has changed, a feature that no longer exists, or factual inaccuracy โ€” please let us know. We take corrections seriously and update articles promptly. You can reach us at sourabhgupta@teachaitools.blog or use the contact form.
